Technology: NeuStar delivers instant messaging svcs to StarHub`s Singapore

Singapore, (ANTARA News/PRNewswire-AsiaNet) - CommunicAsia -- NeuStar, Inc. (NYSE: NSR) today announced that it was selected by StarHub, Singapore's fully-integrated info-communications company, to launch a new multi-community mobile Instant Messaging (IM) service to StarHub's customers in Singapore.

StarHub has chosen NeuStar's market-leading mobile IM suite to launch its new messaging service "Chat Anywhere," and is the first operator in Asia to launch both Windows Live Messenger and Yahoo! Messenger on one multi-community Client on the mobile phone.

Subscribers will benefit from mobile access to their Windows Live Messenger and Yahoo! Messenger instant messaging communities from their mobile phones, and will be able to log on using their existing user names and passwords, just as with the PC.

Stephen Tsang, vice president, APAC at NeuStar Next Generation Messaging (NGM), commented: "StarHub has been one of the most innovative operators in Asia since its launch in 2000, with a number of milestones for innovation and customer solutions. Text messaging is hugely popular, and we want to help StarHub build on the success of SMS and benefit from the instant messaging phenomenon that is driving new revenues and value to our customers around the world. We at NeuStar are delighted to add them to the growing number of operators launching innovative mobile IM services."

Anil Nihalani, vice president, mobile services at StarHub, said: "Our customers want anytime, anywhere access to their online friends, and our new service empowers them to stay in touch with their instant messaging buddies on Windows Live Messenger and Yahoo! on the move."

"We are looking forward to working with NeuStar to provide a service that our customers find easy to use and enjoyable."

The new StarHub messaging services will be available later this month, and both StarHub and NeuStar plan to work together beyond this initial launch to offer increasingly innovative services to StarHub's customers.
