Technology: SSH and SDS Deliver Secure File Transfer and FTP Management Solution for IBM Mainframe Computing Environments

Combined SSH Tectia and SDS FTP Manager Solution Delivers Easy to Implement Data Security and Monitoring for Enterprise Batch File Transfers

HELSINKI, FINLAND and WELLESLEY, Mass. - June 3, 2008 - SSH Communications Security (OMX:SSH1V), a world-leading provider of enterprise security solutions and end-to-end communications security, and the original developer of the Secure Shell protocol, today announced a partnership with Software Diversified Services (SDS), a leading supplier of TCP/IP monitoring and file transfer solutions for IBM z/OS mainframes, wherein SDS will distribute and support a bundled solution combining SSH Tectia Server for IBM z/OS and the SDS FTP Manager (SFM) product to provide a comprehensive encryption and secure FTP (File Transfer Protocol) automation solution.

SSH and SDS are collaborating to provide a complete and easy to implement security solution for IBM z/OS mainframe-centric file transfers with a wide range of enterprise platforms. Working together, the SDS FTP Manager (SFM) and SSH Tectia products will provide near-effortless snap-in SSH protocol-based encryption and security for FTP to and from IBM z/OS mainframes. The solution requires no changes to JCL jobs, data files, or application infrastructure.

SSH Tectia Server for IBM z/OS is an advanced, cost-effective, secure file transfer and secure data-in-transit solution for IBM z/OS mainframe environments. It provides transparent FTP tunneling and automatic FTP to SFTP conversion for fast, low cost replacement of unsecure FTP in enterprise networks. Offering state-of-the-art encryption and authentication technologies, it allows enterprises to quickly and easily secure file transfers and data-in-transit between IBM mainframe, Windows, Unix, and Linux systems.

SFM enables real-time monitoring of IBM z/OS mainframe batch file transfers, automates FTP processes, secures individual FTP commands, and provides comprehensive audit trails to ensure basic compliance with key government regulations. In addition, SFM provides the FTP Control Language (FCL) for IBM mainframe batch jobs to log and retry failed transfers, while also notifying the attending operator when automated recovery fails. Through the SSH and SDS collaboration, programmers will no longer need to alter the JCL code to encrypt a file transfer.

Together, the SSH Tectia and SFM solutions increase the level of security for enterprises conducting batch file transfers on the mainframe by combining robust data security with advanced monitoring and management functionality. SSH Tectia ensures that file transfers being monitored by SFM are no longer vulnerable to malicious threats. SFM further addresses FTP's security shortcomings by integrating the z/OS FTP server with mainframe SAF security (RACF, ACF2, or Top Secret). SFM version 2.0, due for release in mid-summer, will seamlessly connect an IBM FTP client on z/OS to the SSH Tectia Server for IBM z/OS product to enable its advanced security and encryption technologies.

The additional layer of security from SSH Tectia enables SFM users to meet more stringent data security standards as required by government and industry regulations, including the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX), Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA), PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard), and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). SFM's robust monitoring and auditing of SFTP and SCP file transfers- the secure protocols used by SSH Tectia Server for IBM z/OS - will provide powerful oversight, diagnostics, and proof of regulatory compliance.

"Although FTP is a popular tool for enterprise data communications and z/OS mainframe networks, it is risky by nature," said Jim Lampi, Vice President, SDS. "We are very excited to work with SSH to help our customers achieve a much higher level of data security, whether they use FTP or other approaches. SSH Tectia is the leading enterprise security solution for IBM z/OS and distributed hosts, and is an ideal complement to SFM."

"SDS has established a strong reputation for its IBM mainframe TCP/IP monitoring and file transfer solutions, as well as superior technical support and documentation to meet demanding system requirements," said Arto Vainio, CEO, SSH Communications Security Corp. "SSH Tectia will provide SDS SFM users with data encryption and secure FTP tunneling capabilities to protect their business-critical information, making it a win-win situation for all."

Insurance: Environmental risk is rising up the corporate agenda: Survey

London (BUSINESS WIRE) - Stakeholder pressure, the complexity of business relationships and the threat from climate change are the three main factors in encouraging companies to assess more carefully the environmental risks that they face, according to a new Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) survey co-sponsored by the ACE Group of Companies (NYSE:ACE).

Among the 320 risk managers questioned for the global survey, the majority say that they are increasing the attention and resources that they dedicate to environmental risk management. However, the findings also indicate that many companies are still at the early stage of this process and rarely consider environmental risk management formally when undertaking major strategic activities.

The findings show that to date, this category of risk has tended to be managed either as an ad hoc activity or separate from the overall risk management framework.

Karl Russek, Senior Vice President for ACE Environmental Risk, comments: "When companies are planning major strategic activities, the consideration of environmental risk remains the exception rather than the rule. Fewer than half of the respondents to the EIU survey say that they undertake a formal assessment of environmental risk when developing new products and services, and fewer than one in five when planning mergers and acquisitions."

"Environmental risk management is rising on the corporate agenda, but many companies are in the early stages of addressing this issue," says Rob Mitchell, editor of the report. "While there are some companies that take environmental risk very seriously and have developed robust processes to identify, assess and mitigate their exposure, others continue to manage environmental risks in an ad hoc way, and do not consider them when planning major strategic activities, such as mergers and acquisitions."

Concludes Russek: "Based on our experience with organisations of all sizes, as the degree of environmental regulation and scrutiny increases for across the globe, companies and risk managers would be well served to remain proactive on this issue."Notes to Editors: These findings form part of Under the Spotlight: the transition of environmental risk management, a new Economist Intelligence Unit survey and report, co-sponsored by ACE, KPMG, SAP and Towers Perrin. The report examines current thinking around environmental risk management and explores the approaches that companies are taking to identify, assess and manage the risks that they face, both within their organisation and among their broader partner networks and supply chain.

Under the spotlight: the transition of environmental risk managementis available free to download at www.eiu.com global risk briefing About the survey The research for this report is based on an online survey, conducted in March 2008, of 320 executives around the world. The survey sample was senior: 40% of respondents were C-level executives such as CEOs, CFOs, and CROs, and the balance consisted of risk managers, senior vice presidents, heads of business units and other senior managers.
A range of industries was represented, including financial services, manufacturing, information technology and professional services. Most of the firms they work for are large: 58% of surveyed executives work with firms having annual revenue of at least US$500m.

Beijing (ANTARA News/Asia Pulse) - China's prolonged iron-ore price talks with Australian miners for this year's contract could be concluded by this month, according to the head of the China Iron and Steel Association.
Speaking to reporters at an industry conference, CISA chairman Zhang Xiaogang said yesterday that both sides expect to complete the negotiations before June 30 and that the outcome should benefit the interests of both parties.
The talks, which started late last year to set prices for fiscal year starting April 1, have been deadlocked after Baosteel Group (SSX:600019) on behalf of Chinese mills agreed with Brazilian miner Cia Vale do Rio Doce on a 65 to 71-percent rise for 2008 term prices in February.
Australian miners Rio Tinto (ASX:RIO) and BHP Billiton (ASX:BHP) are holding out for more, arguing they deserve a freight premium to reflect their proximity to Asia.

"On balance, the board's current assessment is that demand growth will be moderate this year," governor Glenn Stevens said in a statement.
He said inflation was likely to remain relatively high in the short term, but it should decline over time.
The central bank last lifted the cash rate in March by 25 basis points.

Technology: CDMA grows to more than 451 million subscribers worldwide

APAC and EMEA boast largest year-over-year subscriber increases; CDMA2000 1xEV-DO Gains in North America, CALA and EMEA

Costa Mesa, Calif. (PRIME NEWSWIRE) - The CDMA Development Group (CDG) today announced that the CDMA industry continued its strong growth through the first quarter of 2008, increasing its customer base by almost 17% over the past year to 451 million CDMA subscribers worldwide, with CDMA2000(r) and CDMA2000 1xEV-DO reaching 438 million and 97 million, respectively. The Asia-Pacific (APAC) and Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) regions claimed the highest year-over-year percentage subscriber growth for CDMA2000, while the Americas and EMEA experienced the highest percentage of subscriber growth for CDMA2000 1xEV-DO. The CDG attributes the worldwide increase in subscriber numbers to the technology's high performance and economic competiveness, supported by lower deployment costs, reduced handset costs and an increasing demand for mobile broadband services.

"CDMA's continued global expansion is due to the technology's core strengths, such as high-quality voice, faster broadband speeds and evolutionary in-band migration," said Perry LaForge, executive director of the CDG. "An increasing number of subscribers are taking advantage of the value-added services offered by mobile broadband EV-DO networks, while the service providers are benefiting from the improved user experience, reduced customer churn, and overall higher ARPU.
CDMA2000 has emerged as the technology of choice for emergingmarkets where telephony and Internet penetration are still low, which will guarantee continued growth of the technology for years to come."

In APAC, the total CDMA subscribership (cdmaOne(tm) and CDMA2000) rose to 231 million, which accounts for 51% of total worldwide CDMA subscribers and marks a 30% increase from March 2007 to March 2008. North America's 140 million subscribers claim the second highest percentage of global CDMA subscribers at approximately 31%, with CALA's 62.8 million representing approximately 14%. In EMEA, CDMA subscribership reached 17.7 million.

Over 97% of CDMA subscribers around the world are now taking advantage of 3G CDMA2000 services. CDMA2000 grew by 38% in APAC over the past year, bringing the total number of CDMA2000 subscribers in the region to 223 million, accounting for almost 51% of the world's users. North America is the second largest region for CDMA2000 with nearly 138 million, or 31% of the global users. In EMEA, the CDMA2000 subscriber base reached 16.5 million.

CDMA2000 1xEV-DO subscribership increased to 97 million users globally, with 52 million subscribers in North America and 39 million subscribers in APAC continuing to comprise the majority of the world's EV-DO users at 54% and 40%, respectively. Uptake is surging in North America and EMEA where increased demand for mobile broadband raised subscribership by 74%and 123%, respectively. The CDG attributes this growth to outstanding broadband performance and, for emerging markets, 3G CDMA's suitability across varied terrain to serve as an alternative to wireline Internet access.

To date, 38 EV-DO Revision A (Rev. A) networks are in commercial operation around the world, with another 35 networks in deployment. With peak data rates of 3.1 Mbps in the forward link and 1.8 Mbps in the reverse link, Rev. A growth continues to be strong in North America and APAC, while becoming the broadband technology of choice in developing markets such as Africa and the Caribbean. Additionally, Rev. A has found a foothold in the 450 MHz band in Europe, Russia and Latin America, bringing mobile broadband to rural and urban areas at a very low cost of deployment.

Technology: Classic Menu for Office 2007 features performance gains

Classic Menu for Office 2007 features significant performance gains in version 3.93

Hainan (ANTARA News/PRNewswire-AsiaNet) - Addintools announced today the release of Classic Menu for Office 2007 version 3.93, the newest update for its award-winning flagship product, delivering both bugless performance and stability. In version 3.93, there is no typing slowdown, which sometimes occurred when multiple documents were in use. Moreover, the stability of the program has been improved especially in those occasions when numerous applications are running at the same time.

With the release of MS Office 2007, there has been a flow of complaints from those who did not like the new Ribbon, and wanted the previous navigation menus back. On the other hand, those who did like the new interface proclaimed it a good idea to have both versions at hand. Addintools provides both sides with an ultimate solution: Classic Menu for Office 2007.

Once installed, the program adds the familiar menus of Office 2003 to Office 2007, and makes it extremely easy to adapt the interface to your own preferences: you can position the Office 2003 interface along with the new one or completely hide the latter, assign familiar commands to be at hand or have all the menus under a single "All" pull-down list.

The application is extremely easy to deploy within an organization or enterprise essentially increasing labor productivity as it becomes unnecessary for staff to waste working hours getting accustomed to the new Office 2007 environment.

All these features along with its compact size (about 3Mb) have made Classic Menu for Office 2007 irreplaceable for 45,000 users worldwide and for various institutions such as universities, colleges, international enterprises and government departments.

Business: DHL Express Asia-Pacific goes live with Quintiq planning solution

'S-Hertogenbosch (ANTARA News/PRNewswire-AsiaNet) - Singapore is first country in phased regional rollout of Comprehensive quintiq parcel and express planning solution

By completing the installation of its Parcel and Express Planning Solution at DHL Express Singapore, Quintiq, a leading provider of Advanced Planning and Scheduling (APS) solutions, today reached the first milestone in a major project that will help strengthen DHL's Express pick-up and delivery services across Asia Pacific.

Quintiq APS will ultimately provide all DHL Express operations throughout Asia-Pacific with highly flexible, customized advanced planning and scheduling capabilities for their courier dispatching processes, in their overall express parcel services. DHL can thereby further improve its customer service quality and also reduce its carbon footprint.

Initially focusing on utilizing the Quintiq solution for parcel pick up, it will integrate delivery functions in the coming months.

Development of the Quintiq solution for DHL Express in Malaysia is now underway, with implementation expected to be completed during Q2, 2008.

India, China, Hong Kong, Australia and other countries in the region are scheduled to go live through the rest of the year and early 2009.

Impressive preliminary results
Already during the implementation phase the Quintiq solution has proved effective at enabling the company to improve dispatch performance.

"The kind of improvement that we have already seen in dispatching efficiency is a direct result of the increased visibility and automation provided by the Quintiq solution," said Oliver Facey, VP Operations Programs Asia Pacific at DHL Express.

"Although the solution has only just gone live, we are very pleased and encouraged by these preliminary results. We expect that these and other efficiencies gained over the short and long term will enable DHL Express to sustain efficient operations, lighten the workload of our planners and improve their productivity."

"Quintiq has shown capable of delivering highly reliable planning support for the Asia Pacific region, with close collaboration with our internal IT and Business groups."

Easy, Speedy Implementation, Despite Complex Environment
The Quintiq solution implementation project at DHL Express Singapore can be considered highly successful on many fronts: the positive preliminary results; the speed of the project, which took just a little over six months; and the relative ease with which the Quintiq solution was integrated with DHL Express Singapore's existing management applications.

Victor Allis, CEO at Quintiq commented: "The complexity of the technical environment at DHL Express Singapore presented Quintiq with a significant challenge. Nevertheless, because it is an open and highly flexible solution, we were able to easily integrate Quintiq with all necessary existing systems, configure the solution to support the great number of data feeds in and out, and work with the long-distance data communication lines that links DHL Express Singapore with its far-flung market."

The Singapore and wider Asia-Pacific project echoes a similar, ongoing implementation of the Quintiq solution for DHL Express in Europe and is part of a global contract that allows DHL to use Quintiq's advanced planning and scheduling solutions across the globe.

"This coverage will effectively establish Quintiq as the worldwide standard for advanced planning and scheduling of dispatch services." added Victor Allis, CEO of Quintiq.
