Business: Gold Coast Equipment Auction expected to attract bidders

Brisbane - CNW-AsiaNet - Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers (NYSE and TSX: RBA) - the world's largest industrial auctioneer - expects to attract bidders from around the world when it conducts the largest Australian auction in company history this week.

On June 24 & 25, Ritchie Bros. will sell almost 1,200 truck and equipment items at its permanent auction site in Yatala on the Gold Coast, more items than the Company has ever sold in an auction in Australia.

The Company's largest Australian auction to date featured more than 1,100 equipment items and generated over AU$36 million in total proceeds.

That auction (in September 2007) attracted bidders from 17 countries, including every Australian state and territory.

This week's auction features a large selection of late model cranes, prime movers and earthmoving equipment.

Every item will be sold to the highest bidder on auction day, regardless of price.

Registration to bid is free and open to the general public.

HOW
A Ritchie Bros. auction is a fast-paced, exciting event.
Mobile equipment moves over a ramp in front of the crowd of bidders in the auction theater. Interested buyers bid competitively on the items, either in person at the site or live over the internet.

Most items sell in less than one minute. Ritchie Bros.
auctions are completely unreserved, meaning there are no minimum bids and no reserve prices, unlike many traditional or online-only auctions.

Every item is sold to the highest bidder on auction day, regardless of price.
