Raritan wins IDG`s InfoWorld Technology of the Year Award

Somerset, N.J. (ANTARA News/PRNewswire-AsiaNet) - Raritan's Dominion(R) KX II has won IDG's InfoWorld 2008 Technology of the Year award for best KVM switch.

InfoWorld's 2008 Technology of the Year Awards recognize the top technologies and products that made the greatest impact during the past year. Selected by InfoWorld Test Center editors and reviewers, the annual awards recognize "the most capable, most polished, most groundbreaking, and most valuable products on the IT landscape." Winners are drawn from all of the products tested during the past year, with the final selections made by InfoWorld's Test Center staff.

Winners were announced on the InfoWorld site: http://www.infoworld.com/slideshow/2008/01146-2008_technology-7.html

The Dominion KX II helps companies manage data centers by providing IT administrators easy and secure access and control to servers from anywhere -- helping to reduce downtime and increase productivity.

In announcing the award winners, InfoWorld said, "The Raritan Dominion KX II is light-years ahead of its predecessor, the Dominion KX. The interface is clean and easy to navigate, and the presentation is identical whether you're on the local console or connected remotely. Multiple simultaneous sessions are su pported, and so is virtual media when used with the right interface module. All in all, this equals a big thumbs-up for the Dominion KX II."

"We are honored that the Dominion KX II has been named Technology of the Year by such a well-respected publication,"said Henry Hsu, Director of Enterprise Products at Raritan.

"Used in thousands of data centers around the globe, the Dominion KX continues to prove itself as a best-in-class KVM switch. Valuable feedback from our customers and channel partners has helped make this product a winner."

"InfoWorld tests upwards of 200 IT products every year, and we see many, many good ones," said Doug Dineley, InfoWorld's Test Center Executive Editor. "Our Technology of the Year award winners represent not only the cream of the crop, but the best products in the most important product categories."

According to IDG's announcement, InfoWorld's 2008 Technology of the Year Award winners in the Hardware category include: "DELL (Best Blade Server System), HP (Best Blade System for Small Sites), SUN (Best Storage Server), STRATUS (Best Fault-Tolerant Server), APC (Best Row Cooling Solution), RARITAN (Best KVM), APPLE (Best Notebook Computer), NOKIA (Best Mobile Handset for the Enterprise), HTC (Best Notebook Substitute)."
